**Position Overview**
We are currently looking to add a dynamic Environmental Technician to our passionate team of environmental professionals.
**Job Duties**
The Environmental Technician will provide our government, utility, commercial and not-for-profit clients with the services and solutions needed to efficiently and effectively manage natural resources, comply with policies and obtain regulatory permits. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
+ Understanding the contract needs and specifications of clients and their customers and develop appropriate solutions.
+ Inspect a wide range of habitats, both natural and disturbed, and assess their condition, health and functionality according to client specifications.
+ Identify local species, understand their typical characteristics and recognize common diseases and pests
**Qualifications**
**Education and Qualifications:**
An individual must be able to perform each essential job duty consistently and satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
+ Two to four year degree in Biology, Botany, Ecology, Forestry, Horticulture, Hydrology, Soil Science, Zoology or related discipline or equivalent experience in a similar position.
+ Driver's license and clean driving record are required, a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) may be required by project.
+ Natural resource consulting experience preferred.

**POSITION: Field Biologist**
**TYPE: Temporary**
**POSITION LOCATIONS: Northern California**
**Davey Resource Group, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of the employee owned Davey Tree Expert Company. We provide a wide range of natural resource, utility, GIS and remote sensing consulting services. Do you want a career working outdoors? Our team is composed of professional foresters, certified arborists, natural resource managers, biologists, environmental scientists, geospatial specialists, wildland firefighters, landscape, nursery, tree care and park and recreation professionals.**
**DRG currently has opportunities for field biologists on our Ecological Consulting Services-West team. These opportunities are primarily centered around assessments and monitoring related to utilities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable training and experience with many species that occur in remote areas.**
**Must be in excellent physical condition and able to work outdoors with long days.**
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
**● Adaptable to all types of workflow**
**● Flexible with workload**
**● Assess utilities alignments**
**● Must be willing to work Monday - Saturday**
+ **Communicate with landowners regarding work on or near their property**
+ **Collect and enter data on handheld devices, follow maps and use GPS navigation**
+ **Assess all terrain, habitat, and environmental conditions**
+ **Coordinate with project managers, planners, and vegetation crews**
+ **Willingness to travel throughout California**
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
**● Ability to get along well with peers and supervisors in a field setting**
**● Experience doing outdoor work**
**● Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science or related field**
**● Previous field experience preferred, however, applicable academic experience would be considered**
