Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented Junior Go (Golang) Backend Software Developer/Engineer to join our dynamic software team. The ideal candidate will work in a highly iterative agile environment to deliver high-performing, quality products. This role involves writing scalable, robust, and maintainable code while demonstrating initiative, ownership, and a drive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Write well-defined and tested code.
  • Document work and perform quality testing/validation for changes or improved features before release.
  • Maintain and improve existing codebases and conduct peer code reviews.
  • Solve complex problems related to connected vehicle technology for mobility and telematics.
  • Address challenging distributed systems problems, including scalability, reliability, low latency, and high availability.
  • Document requirements and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot issues and debug codebases.
  • Adapt to new technologies, tools, and processes as needed.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and team members to meet project deliverables and milestone dates.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and suppliers, working collaboratively.
Qualifications:
  • 2 to 3 years of experience with the Go programming language.
  • Overall experience of 5+ years in software development.
  • Hands-on experience with protobufs and gRPC.
  • Understanding of Go Routine and Channel patterns.
  • Knowledge of Test-Driven Development and CI/CD best practices.
  • Familiarity with MongoDB or other non-SQL databases.
  • Experience with Kafka for producing and consuming messages.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Secrets Manager, SQS, SNS, and Lambdas.
  • Proficiency in utilizing containers like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with GIT, VS Code (or other IDEs), JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Experience with Datadog for tracing and debugging.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent coding education.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise in defect analysis.
  • Quick problem-solving and issue resolution skills.

Pay Range: $60 - $62

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
